Watercolor Techniques on Prezi

I loved watching this video, it's visually spectacular and very well put together... Thank you, Stumble Upon! While the end results aren't exactly my cup of tea, the execution is superb.

This week we began discussing the stylistic differences between the different historical "Stages of Abstraction". The intention of the following paragraphs is to give you an extremely broad context for certian departures from realistic renderings over the last several centuries. Abstraction is nothing new and is in fact as old as mankind. It has a rich history full of inexhaustible intentions. Please note that I am only attempting to briefly explain the reasons for monumental shifts over the last 500 years that effected western society specifically. This is not intended to explain abstraction or its philosophy but simply to give reasons for stylistic changes within art, specifically painting and sculpture. I've always loved body art, and have been wanting to try my hand at it for a while. I've been face painting for 5 years, I think it's high time I try body painting, especially after seeing these! I stumbled upon this wonderful watercolour artist,  Marion Bolognesi  the other day. I absolutely love her work, it is so interesting.  Not to mention beautiful!  Who knows what her original intent was, but when I look at both, I see a mixture of pain and beauty.  For some reason, I can relate ;) Well worth sharing! I received a watercolour paint set for my birthday... I've never experimented with this medium before... perhaps it's time I try?
